| Description | The gate Sungnyemun/Namdaemun was built in 1398 and is the oldest wooden architecture in Seoul. It served once as a gateway to the walled city. It is the first national treasure of Korea. On February 10, 2008, a fire engulfed the entire wooden tower. Renovation work is scheduled to take place over several years. (Video taken on 6 / 02). Namdaemun market is a huge market comprising nearly 10,000 shops located alongside each other. They sell products such as food, clothing. and other general merchandises.
